I’ve not been reading as much as I normally would and I guess I’m in a “reading slump” but the books I have read have had a big impact on me and that’s all I can ask for.

Just started ~ private rites
Amazing prose so far and tells the story of queer sisters all dealing with trauma reuniting after their father’s death set in a flooded world due to climate crisis. This book has been compared to king Lear.

Just finished ~ reservoir bitches
A brutal short story collection following several different women in Mexico highlighting just how hard and violent life is in the country.

Finished and can’t stop thinking about ~ blessings
A beautiful debut that feels like watching moonlight for the first time, sad and reflective about a queer boy who is sent away to boarding school by his father in Nigeria when his sexuality is discovered
